In 2014, Let’s Grow STEAMx started with a bold idea: What if we gave future leaders a space to build, create, and imagine—on their terms?

What started as a small, project-based STEAM showcase turned into a launch pad for thousands of future leaders across Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL. By 2016, we leveled up—introducing the Youth College and Career Expo (YCCExpo), a game-changing experience connecting future leaders with colleges, careers, and dreams bigger than any classroom.

And we didn’t stop there.

In 2017, we brought gravity racing into the mix—yes, soap box derby—but with a bold twist: we transformed it into a workforce readiness experience disguised as an academic sport—where young innovators design and build their own cars, apply real-world engineering and science, and feel the rush of learning that moves.

Every year since, we’ve hosted free STEAM workshops, summer camps, hands-on build clinics, and community-centered events that light up futures and shift mindsets. We’re not just introducing future leaders to engineering and science—we’re helping them see themselves in it.
