Champion Spotlight: Alyssa Floyd! ✨🏎️

Hey everyone! My name is Alyssa, and I’m a 6th grader at Richards Middle School.

I’m back for another year in the River City Race Program, and I’m really excited. Last year, I placed 3rd, and that made me want to come back even stronger this season.

This year, I feel like I’m really starting to think like an engineer. I’m learning how small changes to my car can make a big difference in speed and performance, and I’m focused on building the fastest car I can.

.

One of my favorite experiences was visiting Pratt & Whitney. Seeing the airplane engines up close and learning how engineers build them was amazing. It made me want to be an engineer even more. My favorite engineer is Coach Tim. 

I also got to go to the Atlanta Science Festival, and it was so cool! There was so much to see and do, and I met people like engineers, scientists, and programmers who showed me what’s possible.

And after all that learning, we went to Andretti’s for team building, and that was really fun. I got to race and compete, and it made me feel more confident about race day.

I already know what I want to be...I want to be an engineer. And one day, I plan to go to my dream school, Columbus State University.

Right now, I’m raising support to help cover my race expenses like my car materials, tools, and race day needs. Every donation helps me keep going and get closer to my goals.
