The Need: Exciting changes are happening in Fayetteville! The City is improving Beauregard Boulevard and the surrounding area to make City Center more vibrant and accessible than ever. But as construction continues, the Fayette Environmental Education Center will lose its current parking — just as thousands of students, homeschool families, and visitors depend on us for hands-on environmental learning.
The Challenge: Without safe and reliable access, many students and teachers could lose the opportunity to experience our classrooms and environmental education opportunities. Our mission to connect people with nature is at risk of being put on pause.
That’s why, this Giving Tuesday (December 2) — and through Year-End Giving (December 31) — we’re raising funds to create a new entrance and improve access from Favor Road, ensuring that environmental education continues uninterrupted.
The Impact: Your gift will:
Establish a safe new access point for visiting school buses and families
Ensure our environmental education opportunities, such as Teachable Tuesdays, preschool storytime, homeschool programs, and more, will continue
Support field trips for thousands of local students
Keep nature-based education open and accessible to everyone
The Urgency: We need to raise $20,000 by December 31 to complete this project before construction closures begin — keeping our gates open for the next generation of nature stewards. Every dollar brings us closer to maintaining uninterrupted access to learning in nature.
The Call to Action: Give today to keep environmental education within reach — and help us open a new way in for future generations.
