The Coastal Trust is seeking charitable donations to preserve salt marsh on the Georgia Coast. Your donation will support the acquisition and permanent protection of 5,530 acres of salt marsh on the Sapelo and Satilla Sounds. The parcels under pursuit are 1.8% of Georgia's salt marsh.
Lands prioritized by TCT for permanent protection include salt marsh, aquifer recharge areas, and watersheds important for protection of source water for coastal cities. TCT is also a provider of technical assistance for coastal cities in the development and management of public parks, water infrastructure, coastal resilience, and overall quality of life.
Funds raised will support due diligence and acquisition costs, and operating costs related to restoration and protection. If funds are raised beyond what is needed for these transactions, they will be allocated towards due diligence for future conservation acquisitions and towards the provision of interdisciplinary technical assistance for coastal cities.
