The Coastal Trust, Inc. (TCT) is a Georgia Domestic Nonprofit Corporation based in Savannah. TCT is dedicated to resolution of difficult issues facing coasts and coastal plains. TCT seeks to permanently protect wetlands, shorelines, forests, and grasslands and build integrated watershed partnerships. TCT seeks to provide technical assistance and capacity building for coastal cities for infrastructure, parks, and community resilience. The Internal Revenue Service granted The Coastal Trust, Inc. tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3) public charity on February 10, 2025.


TCT is positioned within a strategic range of partnerships and workgroups nationally to address key issues. TCT's mission includes:

  1. Coastal and Watershed Conservation
  2. Support of Water, Sewer, and Stormwater Infrastructure
  3. Community Resilience and Quality of Life
  4. Fish and Wildlife Habitat Restoration and Protection 


TCT is currently registered to operate in Georgia, South Carolina, DC, Massachusetts, Maine, Washington, Oregon, California, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Maryland, and Virginia, with other applications for corporate registration under development. Areas of focus include the Santa Monica Mountains, Laguna Madre and the Río Grande, and the lowcountry of Georgia and South Carolina. TCT is presently pursuing $314M in capital for conservation. Donations of any size are important in delivering conservation at scale, helping cities, and protecting coastal water quality.
