2022 Giving Tuesday for Blue Heron Nature Preserve

Nestled in Atlanta’s North Buckhead neighborhood, Blue Heron Nature Preserve is home to the 3-mile Blueway Trail which allows visitors to experience 30 acres of woodlands, wetlands, riparian areas and meadows – all without leaving the city. These ecologies make Blue Heron a unique park in a densely-populated urban area. Blue Heron provides value for nearby and  adjacent neighborhoods and businesses, serving as a buffer from floods, filtering water, and providing a habitat for migratory birds and other wildlife.

Blue Heron Nature Preserve's mission is to connect people with nature to advance conservation, education, and the arts. Advancing our mission to serve diverse metropolitan Atlanta communities, Blue Heron Nature Preserve (1) engages and motivates people to experience native habitats in an urban environment, (2) protects and preserves native habitats and their associated heritage, (3) provides a living nature lab for education, and (4) advocates for the preservation of nature in urban communities.
