The Grey Muzzle Organization is the largest national nonprofit focused on senior dog well-being. We improve the lives of at-risk senior dogs by providing funding and resources to animal shelters and rescue groups nationwide.

When senior dogs enter shelters, their future is uncertain. The adoption rate for senior dogs (7 years or older) is lower than all other ages combined: Just over 50% find new homes. Together, we can change that. These are just a few of the milestones you have helped us achieve in the past year:

- Grey Muzzle awarded a record $848,000 in grants for a total of $4.6 million since our founding in 2008.

- We gave 90 grants, 15% more than last year.

- We increased total grant funding by more than 20%.

- And most importantly, we helped save and improve the lives of nearly 4,000 senior dogs!

Giving a gift and telling a friend why you support Grey Muzzle helps save dogs like Pick Pocket.  Meet Pick Pocket, the adorable 9-year-old dachshund mix with a heart as big as his wagging tail. Found as a stray wandering the streets all alone, this little one-eyed cutie was brought to PAWS Atlanta and immediately captured hearts. Staff searched high and low, hoping to reconnect him with his previous owner, but sadly, no one ever came forward. Thanks to grant funds from The Grey Muzzle Organization, PAWS Atlanta had the resources to provide Pick Pocket with the care he needed to be ready for adoption. He received preventative care, including vaccines and a heartworm test, and had blood work, which showed elevated liver values for which he is now receiving treatment.   With a clean bill of health, Pick Pocket was ready to start his new life. Because of support from The Grey Muzzle Organization, Pick Pocket is living large and has found his forever person, a young woman who had recently lost her beloved dog Daisy. She said, "It breaks my heart to think about Pick Pocket missing his owner the same way I miss Daisy. But it’s a beautiful remedy to have found each other." 💙
