Live Arts is searching for a new home!
In the past year, Live Arts has said Challenge Accepted! We have found a temporary home at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, but with the rate at which we are growing and serving our community, we need to keep our eyes on the future to truly have space for everyone.
At Live Arts, we have a catchphrase that you will hear if you hang out with us for any length of time. It's "challenge accepted!". Be it putting on a great show, finding a way to include people who for whatever reason had not been included before, or adapting our plans to deal with unforeseen circumstances, Live Arts does this with a smile.
This year, we are still facing one of our greatest challenges yet. COVID-19 forced the sale of the building we had been using, which has forced us find another permanent location from which to operate out of.
So the Live Arts community has said "Challenge accepted!" and in the past year produced 5 in person plays, 6 staged readings, and many workshops both in person and online while moving into our temporary home at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church in Duluth. Finding a permanent space that will welcome everyone in our community with open arms has been a challenge, but we are committed to keeping the search going until we find it. Our people are too important for us to accept anything less than a space for all of us, with no one left behind.
This season, we are producing our third full season since COVID-19 at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian. Support from our community is needed now more than ever.
Know that the space is not only for us...at least two other groups also lost their home, and in the spirit of community, Live Arts is looking for a home that can provide for not only us, but for those groups and others we have yet to learn about as well. The need for affordable space is great, but as always Live Arts has said "Challenge Accepted!" and we won't stop until it becomes a reality.
So please, give what you can, and help us say "challenge accepted!" as we continue changing the world for years to come.
