GAgives Day 2025

Look! Mushrooms!

Our GAgives Day goal this year is to raise $4,000 for our school’s outdoor classroom. Children need nature to thrive and grow: studies show that kids who spend time outside are smarter, more attentive, and less anxious. In short, interacting with nature makes children happier and healthier! It’s so important, it’s a core part of Counterpane’s philosophy and curriculum. 

With your help, we will expand our outdoor classroom by building a cob oven. The students will plan and build this rustic cooking element with the help of an expert cob oven designer. The opportunity to learn an indigenous building technique that is still used around the world today, then to plan meals and cook and bake outside on fire like humans have done for millennia, is a rare opportunity that we’re delighted to incorporate into our interdisciplinary curriculum. 

While nature provides the ambiance and some of the materials, our outdoor classroom will be even more engaging with your support. Join us on GAgives Day and show your support for Counterpane and our outdoor classroom!
