Eddy Lin's Fundraiser

Personal Statement: One of the coolest people I met was a grade ahead of me named Ty Brown. He has down syndrome and was one of the happiest people I ever met. His smile was infectious and I was happy to see him every time I saw him. He was a big part of our Lassiter school community, working at the school store and being the soccer manager for our team, being a huge representation of Lassiter school spirit for us. He probably doesn't remember me, but he has influenced me to take part of the Tommy Nobis Center and the mission and values they are spreading. Down below is the mission of Tommy Nobis Center. 

For over 48 years, Tommy Nobis Center has been a trailblazing service provider and advocate for equitable education and employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Now more than ever, we recognize that access to work readiness instruction for youth with disabilities is vital to their professional success. In response, we are embarking on new endeavors to increase impact among Georgia’s youth with disabilities. Through our Early Youth Employment Services (EYES) and our newest program, The Academy, youth with disabilities are transformed into skilled, motivated workers who are empowered to achieve their career goals.

Here is how your donation will support the educational pathway of youth with disabilities:

·        $50 provides classroom supplies for students with disabilities.

·        $100 creates community engagement opportunities with potential employers through student tours to local businesses.

·        $250 equips students with job readiness skills through classroom-based sessions on resume building, interviewing, and dressing for success.  

·        $500 provides a student 1 week of camp during summer, fall, spring, or winter breaks.

·        $1,000 supports a student through our programs for the entire semester!
