Compelling Stories in Gwinnett County

One of the things I love about theatre is that it's an outlet to tell compelling stories. One of the things I love about Live Arts Theatre is that they provide an opportunity for new directors to get their footing. Live Arts Theatre has been paramount to my development and growth as a director.

In 2019-2020, I was in Live Arts Theatre's Directing Intensive. Through this intensive, I gained the skills necessary to direct a full production, as well as the opportunities to hone my directing skills 

Since the Directing intensive, I've directed 3 full productions (about to add #4 in April), 4 staged readings, 6 10-minute plays, and 2 Zoom/online plays. Because of Live Arts Theatre, I've been able to tell compelling stories, such as The Tin Woman (pictured), Higher Place in Heaven, These Shining Lives, Slaying Holofernes, and more. I've been blessed to be able to find and tell stories that mean a lot to me.

I'm approaching my 10 year anniversary of being in theatre. Even though I've been an actor for longer, I'm more confident in my directing skill and consider myself to be a much stronger director than actor. I'm thankful for Live Arts Theatre for their dedication to building directors (and various other disciplines).

The funds I raise will go toward the costs associated with finding and building out a new permanent space for Live Arts, general operating/season costs that keep the theatre running, and raising enough money to finally pay our Artistic Directors for the tireless work they do for our community.
