A Story of Friendship, Books, and Belonging

It started with a simple idea: that a library could be more than shelves and silence — it could be a place where stories spark connection, where neighbors become friends, and where learning never stops.

That idea became the heartbeat of Friends of Palmetto Library, Inc.

We’re a volunteer-powered nonprofit rooted in Palmetto, Georgia, and we believe that access to books, creativity, and community should be free and joyful for everyone. Whether it’s a child picking out their first summer reading prize, a teen finding their voice in Anime Club, or a senior rediscovering poetry in Literary Club — we’re there, behind the scenes, making it happen.

This past year, we launched our Literary Club, welcomed guest authors and musicians, and celebrated the opening of our new website — a milestone that helps us stay connected and share resources more easily.

Our team is made up of artists, educators, parents, retirees, and book lovers who show up with open hearts and helping hands. We design flyers, run the bookstore, set up chairs, and greet guests with a smile. We believe that every program — no matter how small — can make a big difference.

We’re proud to support the Palmetto Branch of Fulton County Library System, and we’re always looking for new friends to join us.

Because when you walk through the doors of the library, you’re not just entering a building — you’re stepping into a story. And we’re honored to help write it.
