For decades, The Wren's Nest has provided a storytelling hour on Saturdays for visitors. Unfortunately, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have temporarily closed our doors to visitors. Fortunately, The Wren’s Nest has found a way to still bring storytelling to its audiences with Virtual Storytelling.

Now on Saturdays, The Wren’s Nest livestreams a storytelling performance on its Facebook page. For those who miss the livestream, they can still view the performance on our website or YouTube channel. With Virtual Storytelling, The Wren’s Nest is able to support and share the talents of the professional storytellers from the Kuumba Storytellers of Georgia or the Southern Order of Storytellers. We can share the stories that entertained, inspired and taught so many (including Joel Chandler Harris) and introduce them to new audiences who may not have had access to The Wren’s Nest storytelling in Atlanta.

The Wren's Nest is the historic home of author and journalist Joel Chandler Harris. It is also the oldest house museum in the state of Georgia, opening in 1913 with the help of supporters like President Theodore Roosevelt, Andrew Carnegie, and John D. Rockefeller. While Harris may be the reason the house was preserved, at the heart of our history and our mission is storytelling. Donate now to support Virtual Storytelling and help us to preserve and share the art of storytelling with more people than ever!
