EVA Strong: Supporting Beyond the Classroom

As a teacher with over a decade in the classroom, I’ve seen how disparities in homes across Georgia can make or break a child’s future. The right resources can open doors to opportunities they never imagined, while the lack of those resources can hold them back. 

When I stepped away from the classroom in 2021 to focus on raising my family, I gained a deeper understanding of the challenges many parents face—especially when basic needs go unmet. Seeing firsthand how these struggles impact children’s ability to thrive compelled me to do more. With the time and space to reflect, I felt called to address these issues from a grassroots level by serving as a board member at Excelsior Village Academies. This role has allowed me to work toward creating solutions that give every child a fair chance to succeed

At Excelsior Village Academies, we are leading the way as the first and only public charter school in Henry County. Our mission is to provide the holistic support students need to thrive—not just academically, but in every area of their lives. For some children, this means meeting nutritional needs to help them focus and grow. For others, it’s offering access to life-changing opportunities or providing transportation solutions when families are unable to.
