For years, I have had the privilege of working with young adults with disabilities at the school level, watching them grow, discover their strengths, and begin to dream about their futures. Seeing their determination and growth has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.

Now, at the Tommy Nobis Center, I get to witness the next and most powerful part of their journey as they step into meaningful employment. There is something extraordinary about seeing a young person’s confidence bloom as they earn that first paycheck, contribute to a team, and realize that their work matters. Employment does more than provide income. It builds independence, purpose, and pride.

Empowering people with disabilities to gain employment is about more than opening doors to jobs. It is about opening minds and hearts to what true inclusion looks like. Every day, I am reminded that when we invest in potential, we do not just change one life, we strengthen entire communities.
