We are the Georgia Head Start Association and our mission is to provide education, leadership and advocacy that support Head Start programs' efforts in delivering high quality comprehensive services to Georgia's children, families and communities. Head Start began as an eight-week demonstration project in 1965 to help break the cycle of poverty. In 2022 Head Start's reach in Georgia, consists of services to 19,186 children ages 3-5, 4,820 children below age 3 and 375 migrant and seasonal children totaling 24,381 children and families statewide. October is Breast Cancer Awareness and Head Start Awareness month. To commemorate both with the help of their teachers, each child in a Head Start program will receive a pink pinwheel to plant and harvest annually. A dollar for every child helps sustain our commitment to Georgia's children and families. Help us reach our goal of $24,381. Thank you!
