El Refugio Shines a Light

People inside Stewart Detention Center should not be there. They should be with their families. They should be part of communities. They should be working and looking forward to the holiday season. There is no reason to put people in cages while their immigration case is considered.  

Funds raised through our #GivingTuesday campaign will be used to put money on commissary accounts, send books, operate our help line, support families with rent and food, buy plane and bus tickets for people being released, advocate for the release of all people at SDC, especially those with compromised health, and be an organization of hospitality and presence, one that responds to the immigrant community in any way we are needed.
