Give & Learn More:
Phenomenal Women’s Health, Inc. is a nonprofit dedicated to educating, equipping, empowering, and supporting women and girls - especially those underserved, underinsured, and uninsured - to live healthy, fulfilled lives. Founded in 2007 by Cheryl Burnside, a physical therapist who saw the urgent need for community-based women’s wellness education, PWH creates programs that address mind, body, fiscal, and spiritual health.
Our mission goes beyond one-time workshops. We build long-term confidence, provide mentorship, and give women the tools to make informed decisions that improve their well-being for years to come. When you support PWH, you’re not just helping one person - you’re impacting future generations, because healthier, empowered women create healthier, empowered communities. On Give 8/28, your gift helps us expand our programs, reach more women and girls, and continue changing lives one phenomenal story at a time.
Loving Me Phenomenally (Ages 11-15)
Middle school can be one of the most challenging times in a young girl’s life. That’s why our 6-week Loving Me Phenomenally programs, held in Spring and Fall, are designed to boost self-esteem, foster self-respect, and encourage healthy lifestyle choices during these formative years. Through engaging, hands-on activities, participants learn proper etiquette, healthy body image, relationship skills, and how to dress for success - all while developing the confidence to face challenges head-on.
This program doesn’t just teach skills; it instills a mindset of self-love, acceptance, and resilience. Every girl leaves knowing she is valuable, capable, and phenomenal. Your Give 8/28 donation sponsors a participant for the full program, providing education, mentorship, supplies, and encouragement that can change the trajectory of her life.
Stepping Out (Ages 16-19)
As young women prepare to transition from high school into the next chapter of their lives, they face critical decisions about education, careers, and personal identity. Stepping Out is a 10-month mentorship program that provides the tools they need to thrive. Participants learn about communication, positive relationships, financial responsibility, college preparation, and leadership development. They gain real-world exposure through field trips, workshops, and community engagement opportunities.
For many, this is the first time they’ve had access to consistent mentorship and tangible career guidance. With your Give 8/28 gift, you help sponsor a young woman’s journey toward self-sufficiency and leadership, ensuring she steps into adulthood with confidence, purpose, and a support system cheering her on.
I Will Thrive (Ages 19+)
Health is more than the absence of illness - it’s about living a balanced, empowered life. Our I Will Thrive program delivers wellness-focused workshops and events for women of all ages, with topics like disease prevention, healthy eating, stress management, and mental health awareness. We create spaces where women can connect, learn, and take actionable steps toward better health.
Through interactive seminars, networking opportunities, and practical strategies for everyday life, participants leave feeling informed, supported, and motivated to take control of their wellness. Your Give 8/28 donation allows us to keep these programs accessible to women who may otherwise face barriers to health education, empowering them to thrive in every area of life.
