Did you know that in the state of Georgia,
Black women are 2 x as likely to die from childbirth than white women.
Eighty-nine percent of pregnancy-related deaths were preventable.
Georgia has some of the highest rates of maternal deaths – 65.7 per 100,000 live births.
In 2024, our initiative is to educate, equip, empower, and support women to know the stages of pregnancy and the symptoms of preeclampsia to help decrease the preventable deaths of pregnant women of color, especially in the underserved communities.
