One year & four months ago, I started at Tommy Nobis Center. As I walked through the doors, I immediately felt the passion, excitement, and love from everyone at the organization.

For me, it has been an amazing time of growth!

The opportunity to work alongside many dedicated community champions and witnessing firsthand the amazing accomplishments of youth and young adults with disabilities when provided a safe and empowering space has only strengthened my dedication for our mission:

Empowering Through Employment!

Fun Facts:

  • In our last fiscal year...
      • Through our Early Youth Employment Services (EYES) we served 1,006 students with disabilities from 117 schools throughout 9 counties in GA!
      • Our ConNect Events provided connection and resources for youth with disabilities and their families; 550 participants and their families attended 17 events!
  • Our program for post-high school young adults with disabilities, "The Academy", has served 53 participants, 3 cohorts have graduated the program, and 93% of program graduates have been placed in employment!

Tommy Nobis Center recognizes the disparity in the unemployment rates for individuals with disabilities, especially Black individuals, with the highest unemployment rate of 12.3%.

We are striving to close this gap by ensuring equitable access to employment opportunities and resources. This includes raising awareness and changing mindsets throughout the community and potential employers.

Please donate to the Tommy Nobis Center today and follow along on our social media to watch the magic happen!

  • $1,000 supports a student through our programs for the entire semester!
  • $500 provides a student 1 week of camp during summer, fall, spring, or winter breaks.
  • $250 equips students with job readiness skills through classroom-based sessions on resume building, interviewing, and dressing for success.
  • $100 creates community engagement opportunities with potential employers through student tours to local businesses.
  • $50 provides classroom supplies for students with disabilities.

But give what you can - it all goes toward supporting students on their path to success!
