The project is to create a therapeutic Drum Circle for teens. The Drum Circle will provide a healthy environment for youth to be involved in a productive activity they enjoy. It will also re-focus some of their pinned-up energy. Drumming plays an important role in creating a sense of community, belonging, is educational, promotes healing, and is a means of stress relief.
The core performing drum circle will provide entertainment at community activities in schools, churches, recreational departments and festivals. It allows the children of the community to be a productive part of their community contributing to the lives of many.
The members will take part in the planning of the performance. Learn the skills of acting, discipline of being on time, mindful of your surroundings, and the ability gauging their performance and skills through the audience response. Gaining the ability to critique themselves and improve their performance. Once their skills have been perfected the members will be able to evaluate their skill through the increased invitations to perform, the ability to gain the anticipated response from their audience.
The members will be able to travel around the local area, the state, the country and possible around the world performing at schools, churches, recreation activities and cultural festivals.
