Help us help 20 seniors - many Veterans - age in place with dignity in DeKalb County today.

$1,500 goal

I have been involved with Habitat for Humanity-DeKalb for over a decade. I have seen many hard-working families enter into the program and achieve their dream of home ownership.

I have also observed home repair projects for seniors and Veterans that will help ensure a longer stay in their own homes during retirement. Homes that represent their success, their hard work, and their legacy.

Right now, we need your help. We have 20 approved applications to our Senior Home Repair Program. However, we do not have the funding to help these applicants. Winter is coming and there are home repairs, new roofs, ramps, weatherization, and plumbing issues that need attention to ensure safe living conditions.

You can help seniors like Michael and Estella (pictured), both retired Veterans, or Debbie, who retired from Emory and battles lupus, or Ms. D, a retired USPS worker who has gone back to school to finish a criminal justice degree, to age in place with dignity.

“I want to help local senior citizen groups by teaching them about fraudulent scams that target seniors.” -Ms. D.

We are committed to helping seniors in our community age in place. This improves quality of life, including physical and mental health. Aging in place also safeguards seniors from the bacterial and viral risks that can be found in senior living facilities, reducing their chance of contracting a serious illness.

I thank you in advance for your continued support of Habitat for Humanity-DeKalb. I appreciate you supporting an organization that means so much to me!
