For many, the access to quality healthcare like regular check-ups and exams, prenatal care, dental visits, health education, and counseling can feel burdensome. At Good Sam we know this access is crucial to living a full, healthy, and long life. Good Sam serves individuals and families who have the least access to healthcare and are at the highest risk of having severe health issues that remain undiagnosed and untreated. Perhaps no one is more vulnerable or faces more challenges in accessing healthcare than people experiencing homelessness. The Friday Clinic at Good Samaritan Health Center exists to serve these neighbors in their time of need, creating a safe and consistent place where they can receive the highest quality care.

Every Friday for the last 8 years, Good Sam pauses our normal clinic operations to provide our Full Circle of Health services to people experiencing homelessness. We use the Good Sam van to shuttle friends from locations throughout the city to our front door, where they will receive complete medical, dental, and mental health assessments and a tailored treatment plan, at no cost. Prescribed medications are dispensed for free at our onsite pharmacy and every patient is given meals and hygiene kits to take with them as they leave the Center.

Each year, Good Sam dedicates more than $500,000 of its annual operating budget to the expenses of running Friday Clinic. We rely on 100% on philanthropic support to keep this important program going.

And you can help us! This GA Gives Day, we're inviting you to Give Good Fridays with Good Sam. We are hoping to raise $50,000 in a single day to provide an entire month of medical, dental, mental health, medication, and food access for people experiencing homeless in Atlanta.

See below for a breakdown of these expenses and then decide how you want to impact our patients experiencing homelessness in 2024.  Spread the word and Give Good Fridays with Good Sam this Giving Tuesday!
