SKIP Georgia Chapter Inc. (SKIP GA) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. SKIP Inc. an affiliate organization, started in 1976 and was based on research on children of inmates in at risk situations. Fast forward decades later, in 2017, the best-practiced model was replicated in the State of Georgia -- recognized today as SKIP Georgia Chapter Inc.  

The two-fold mission of SKIP Georgia is to help break the cycle of multi-generational incarceration by providing a network of supportive services and innovative educational programs to children of incarcerated parents and their families, and other at-risk children who are under-served and (2) to increase public awareness of the underlying problems of these children.  

Our goal is to inspire children impacted by the cycle of multi-generational incarceration by creating a community in which every child of an imprisoned parent attains the right, and access to holistic development

                                                          How You Can Help

• $25 will cover the cost of a weekly MARTA (public transportation) pass or gas card
• $50 will buy school supplies to prepare the children of incarcerated parents for the upcoming school year
• $100 will cover the cost of programming materials and supplies for 4 students to participate in a field trip visit a local historical museum for a hands-on learning experience
• $250 will pay for groceries to help a family experiencing food insecurity during this time
• $500 will support a family needing rental or mortgage assistance during loss of a job
• $1000 will provide (8) one-hour family therapy sessions for an uninsured family by a licensed clinician/counselor to help cope with the trauma being experienced during this time of crisis.
