Stronger Together: Help us fight back!

I am part of the leadership team hosting our annual grassroots Giving Day on May 15th. GHF collaborates with communities across the state to change Georgia’s laws and systems to promote health equity for all Georgians. We "make the impossible possible" (a quote from our Executive Director!). For GHF, that means building a state where everyone can thrive, regardless of where a person lives, how much money they make, their race/ethnicity, or background.

Our main focus has been on access to health care for all Georgians, especially through Medicaid expansion, and fighting against cuts to state or federal programs. However, we also advocate for housing for the unhoused, mental health, and public health. We fight for our most marginalized citizens: Georgians living in poverty, mentally or physically disabled, LGBTQ+, and more. GHF has recently been successful in opening minds to Medicaid expansion, keeping kids enrolled in Peach Care, and assuring mental and physical health are covered equally. We have more to do. As a Family Physician, I have seen how access to health coverage, medications, and housing are essential to all of us.
