7 years at GHF!
Because June 16, 2021 is my 7-year work anniversary, I am asking people to give $70 as a one-time gift or commit to being a monthly donor at $7! (Or pick your favorite multiple of 7 if you're nerdy like that.)
Before I joined GHF in June of 2014, I worked directly with children & families from across Georgia. Our goal was to improve their health by learning new healthy habits and skills like healthy cooking or regularly exercising. Time after time, families struggled to meet the goals they set for themselves, not because they didn't try hard enough. They often fell short because their community, our state, and the health care system weren't set up to help them succeed.
I came to Georgians for a Healthy Future to solve that problem--to change laws and policies so that every Georgian has the supports and resources they need to live the healthy life that all of us deserve.
On June 16, 2021, I will celebrate my 7th work anniversary at GHF. In that time, we've chipped away at the massive job of re-shaping Georgia's health policy landscape and we've done that by working alongside Georgians impacted by the issues we advocate for.
In 2020 alone, GHF urged public policy change to support a better state response to COVID-19 and mobilized Georgians in response to Gov. Kemp's short-sighted Medicaid waiver plan. GHF was instrumental to the passage of surprise billing legislation, an achievement five years in the making.
I am so proud of the incredible work we have done while remaining clear-eyed about the challenges that remain. Too many Georgians are still uninsured. Too many Georgians receive inadequate health care because of who they are or where they live. Our state's public health system is in need of massive investments to recover from COVID-19 and protect Georgians from future threats.
I am committed to doing my part to move Georgia towards a healthy, just state. Today, I am asking you to join me in the commitment to build a healthy Georgia for all Georgians.
In honor of my 7th work anniversary, I have committed to personally giving $700 and fundraising an additional $700 in support of the GHF mission this year. Will you give today?
