In 1990, the Fountain City Classic began with a vision bigger than football—a commitment to celebrate HBCU excellence, strengthen community, and create educational opportunities for students.

Thirty-six years later, we know helping students get to college is only part of the journey. We must help them finish.

Too often, determined students face financial gaps that can put their education on hold. Sometimes it’s not thousands of dollars—it’s a textbook, an unpaid fee, a tuition balance, or graduation costs standing between a student and the finish line.

Through the 36th Annual Fountain City Classic Close the Gap Campaign, our goal is to raise $15,000 to help college students with tuition, books, fees, and graduation expenses.

We’re asking our community to start with $19.00, honoring the year the Fountain City Classic began.
