Support Literacy and Self-Empowerment for Youth

In Houston County, educational inequities disproportionately affect Black students, who are academically 1.7 grades behind their White peers. Understanding the profound impact this gap has on children's futures, we created Reading with Kings (RWK) to help bridge this divide and empower young Black children to excel. RWK was born out of a commitment to ensure every child has access to the support they need to thrive. This free literacy program provides personalized instruction to boys struggling with reading, equipping them with skills that transform their academic performance and self-confidence. RWK is more than a reading program—it is a pathway to brighter futures.
