We did it! With your support, we hit our goal of $5,000. This means that 200 seniors in need will be receiving emergency food relief for a week. We cannot express our gratitude enough. Thank you for your kindness, generosity and above all, your unwavering support of what we do each day.

The Athens Community Council on Aging (ACCA) typically assists 180 seniors through our Meals on Wheels Program. But, due to COVID-19 we have expanded that program to meet the overwhelming need. Since March 16, we have provided emergency food relief and commodity items to 1,404 seniors resulting in over 34,126 meals served. Included in this total is 375 older adults living in low-income housing. Over 1,400 safety check phone calls have been placed.
The dramatic increase highlights the critical need in the population ACCA serves during this time. We are able to continue our emergency food relief efforts through dedicated volunteers, community partners and by private support from donors like you. Our goal of $5,000 will help feed 200 older adults for one week during COVID-19 through our emergency food relief efforts.
The most difficult component of the COVID-19 situation is not knowing its longevity. The situation remains serious, especially for older adults. ACCA will continue to adapt and adjust to these challenges in the coming days and weeks. Your philanthropic support is needed for us to continue our pledge that no senior will be left behind.
