This year, for my birthday and in loving memory of our sweet kitty Fluffy, I'm raising funds for Homeward Trails Animal Rescue. 💛🐾

Next Thursday, I’ll be joining our Trails UP team on a weeklong trip to Danville, VA, where we'll be working to trap, spay/neuter, and care for 65 community cats in an effort to reduce suffering before it starts.

I've set a goal of raising $1,000, and I would be so grateful for a donation of any size to support this lifesaving work.

Since 2020, our Trails UP program has traveled to rural, under-resourced communities in Virginia every month, helping prevent the birth of kittens and puppies who often face heartbreaking odds — from being born outdoors to ending up in overwhelmed shelters.

In just five years, we’ve:

🐱 Spayed/neutered almost 3,000 cats

🐶 Spayed/neutered over 500 dogs

🥫 Distributed 2 million+ pounds of pet food

❤️ Making a difference in lives that otherwise may have been lost

The impact in Danville alone is undeniable:

📉 In 2024, the Danville Area Humane Society took in 325 fewer cats and euthanized 610 fewer cats than in 2023

🛠️ Homeward Trails also spayed/neutered 407 community cats during that time

📦 We’ve also pulled 140+ cats and dogs from Danville into our rescue and provided food to hundreds of local caregivers

This work is changing the future for animals who would otherwise be born only to suffer. We believe this is the most impactful program we’ve ever launched — and I would be honored if you’d help me support it.
