I'm a proud board member of Georgians for a Healthy Future.

Stronger Together: Coverage for Every Georgian:

By giving to GHF, you're joining a movement to ensure that every Georgian — no matter their zip code, income, or background — has affordable, quality health insurance. Together, we can ensure that everyone is covered, as a step towards building a healthier future for all.

Why Give to GHF:

  • GHF is Georgia's leading health equity advocacy organization, trusted by communities and policymakers.
  • Your donation supports data-driven policy change and community engagement that prioritizes health equity.

The team is small but mighty— GHF has reached thousands of Georgians through advocacy, education, and direct assistance.

Recent GHF wins and impacts:

Closing Georgia’s coverage gap (Medicaid expansion)

In the Georgia legislature’s first-ever committee hearing on a bill that would have closed the coverage gap, GHF’s Executive Director was invited by the bill sponsor to be the primary expert witness. She detailed how the bill would provide coverage to 500,000 low-income, uninsured Georgians and the benefits of such a policy for the state.

During the 2024 legislative session, GHF mobilized more than 350 Georgians to contact their state leaders in support of closing Georgia’s coverage gap this year.

GHF is one of the leading voices urging state leaders to choose Medicaid expansion so that low-income adults have health insurance and access to care when they get sick and to keep them healthy.

Keeping kids covered by Medicaid/PeachCare:

With Voices for Georgia’s Children, GHF worked with state leaders to automatically screen children who receive food assistance (SNAP) for Medicaid at the same time. This helps get more kids covered who would otherwise remain uninsured.

During the Medicaid unwinding, GHF’s outreach committee trained more than 100+ community health workers, social service assisters, and other professional helpers so they can help Medicaid members with their renewals and paperwork.

Supporting the implementation of new mental health law:

GHF co-led two training sessions for Medicaid insurance companies to help them improve their coverage of health care services for mental health and substance use recovery. The trainings also helped the insurance companies better report their compliance with the new state law.

GHF partnered with Silence the Shame to co-lead three “Parity Parties,” which trained 120 Georgia teens about their health insurance rights and protections related to mental health.
