Supporting Diverse Storytelling

Live Arts Theatre is so much more than a theatre. It's home. It's a family. It's completely changing the world through great theatre.

At Live Arts, we have a catchphrase that you will hear if you hang out with us for any length of time. It's "challenge accepted!". Be it putting on a great show, finding a way to include people who for whatever reason had not been included before, or adapting our plans to deal with unforeseen circumstances, Live Arts does this with a smile. 

Those of you who know me, know I dream big and I also go hard at making those dreams a reality. This year has been challenging as I have led our LAT family through continuing to search for a permanent home for the theatre while enjoying our temporary home at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, and creating the structure to allow us to continue to thrive and grow as we serve our community. In addition, Andre and I have been working hard to bring an amazing 15th Anniversary Season of diverse stories to our community. This is on top of the advocacy and work we do to make sure that every human being we encounter feels seen and knows that there is a place in our community, in our world, for them and their unique story.

Why diverse storytelling? 

- Because every human being is unique, and comes with a unique story worth telling. 
- Because mental health and community engagement increase ten-fold when folks see themselves and hear their stories told publicly on stage. - Because our stories spark conversation and connection, which strengthens the bonds between folks who live and visit Gwinnett County. 
- Because experiencing a story with other human beings, as it unfolds live, is an experience in human connection you cannot achieve at home in your living room.

The funds I raise will go toward the costs associated with finding and building out a new permanent space for Live Arts, general operating/season costs that keep the theatre running, and raising enough money to finally pay our Artistic Directors for the tireless work they do for our community.

This year, my goal is particularly meaningful, as it represents the 15 years we have been changing the world through diverse storytelling.
$100 for each of the 15 years we are celebrating. $100 for each of the 15 years to come as we grow bigger and better.

50% of whatever I raise will go toward this season.
50% will go toward our long term strategic goals of a permanent facility and salaries.

Please donate to Live Arts Theatre, a 501c3 nonprofit theatre. Donations may be tax deductible, check with your tax preparer. All donations will go towards the theatre in general to cover operating expenses as well as strategic goals so we can continue to produce amazing shows while we find and build out a new permanent space where all will not only be welcome, but celebrated.
