ZAMI NOBLA cannot do this work alone; your continued support guarantees our capacity to assist the most vulnerable among us. 

 We appreciate your help in building sustainable support systems for aging lesbians. Our vision is a just and equitable world where every elder is treated with respect and dignity.  

Deeply rooted in Georgia with a national reach, ZAMI NOBLA- National Organization of Black Lesbians on Aging is a membership organization committed to building a base of power for Black Lesbians over the age of 40. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, we center Service, Advocacy, and Community-Action Research. 

We operate within a feminist social justice framework, promoting health and wellness. We fight actively against racialized ageism, racism, sexism, classism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, and xenophobia.

We envision a thriving national organization with membership chapters in every state creating opportunities to improve the quality of life for aging Black lesbians.  

Our state chapter is located in rural Leland, North Carolina.

In December 2021, we completed the renovation of the Biggers House in Atlanta: permanent, accessible, affordable, and supportive housing for Black lesbians 55 years and older living on a fixed income.  

Donations are needed to fund materials, supplies, and labor for our community gardens and food justice program. 

To buy instruments, and provide instruction for our online Community Music Program, providing Ukulele lessons to a multi-racial, multi-generational group of LGBTQ+ persons around the country.

To pay production costs for the ZAMI NOBLA Podcast: a sound source for Black lesbian herstory.  

To fund staff and provide stipends to volunteers to build the capacity and organizational development of ZAMI NOBLA.
