SPARK Reproductive Justice NOW envisions a world where economic, social and cultural equity, restorative justice, body autonomy, and comprehensive reproductive and sexual freedom exists; where all people are empowered, valued, and able to make liberatory decisions about their communities, families, and lives.

Since our founding in 2007, we have fostered a dynamic, collaborative model of advocacy, leadership, collective action, and discourse that creates change and impact for Black Women, Women of Color, and Queer & Trans Youth of Color in our struggles for reproductive justice.

Our core programs include:

Fierce Youth Reclaiming & Empowering (FYRE)

FYRE develops the leadership of Queer & Trans youth of color through internships, social media engagement, our annual Media Justice Camp, trainings and technical assistance for student leaders, art, and community-based research.

Speak Justice Take Action (SJTA)
SJTA informs our base and legislators of key reproductive justice issues in order to transform power and shift policy priorities and engages our base in action-oriented political mobilization and education.

To date, FYRE has hosted 35 LGBTQQ youth of color at 4 FYRE Media Justice Camps producing a variety of media resources covering issues from coming out, bullying, and sexual health to healthcare access, violence, and abortion and organized the first LGBTQQ youth of color reproductive justice conference in the Southeast, IGNITE, which provided 15 workshops to 85 LGBTQQ youth of color from 13 southern states, while SJTA has hosted 8 "LegislateTHIS!" events - our annual statewide day of action - mobilizing over 500 community members to the Georgia Capitol to advocate for sound reproductive health and rights policy and led a broad-based grassroots organizing initiative to raise awareness and pass anti-shackling legislation, “The Giving Birth with Dignity and in Safety” Act. This popular initiative resulted in the pivotal text “Giving Birth Behind Bars: A Guide for Achieving Reproductive Justice for Incarcerated Women” with more than 1900 downloads and 70 hard copies distributed to community partners and Georgia legislators.
