I’RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation is building a future where every child—regardless of race, income, neighborhood, or family circumstance—has access to the emotional, educational, and mental-health support needed to thrive.

Founded in the North Bronx in 2012 by Shanequa Moore, LMSW, MPA, I’RAISE began as a mentoring program for girls living in New York City public housing. Shanequa’s own experience overcoming poverty and significant life challenges inspired her to create the support system she wished had existed for her. Today, I’RAISE has grown into a comprehensive youth- and family-serving organization reaching more than 1,600 young people directly and thousands more through partnerships with 40 schools across 10 school districts.

Our work addresses the barriers that too often stand between young people and their potential. We provide:

• Culturally responsive mental-health and wellness services;

• Mentoring, leadership development, and educational support;

• Social-emotional learning that strengthens confidence, decision-making, emotional regulation, and resilience;

• Family coaching and concrete support that help caregivers navigate challenges and build stability; and

• School and community partnerships that bring support directly to children where they live and learn.

We do more than respond when a young person reaches a crisis. We work preventively—identifying needs early, strengthening protective factors, and surrounding children and families with trusted adults, practical resources, and opportunities to succeed.
