Womens Entrepreneurial Opportunity Project Inc

WEOP is an organization founded and led by women of color, that develops and promotes program initiatives that foster the economic advancement of self-employed and women owned small businesses through education, resources, and professional networks. WEOP provides a sense of power, purpose and platform for women, promoting business and financial sustainability, increased leadership roles, and civic engagement.

Advancing Business Opportunities Ventures & Enterprises (“ABOVE”), a core WEOP business development program. WEOP’s programming is tailored specifically to help women of color overcome the economic and socio-cultural barriers that challenge business owners. A major program component of WEOP's is the Advancing Business Opportunities Ventures and Enterprises (ABOVE) program. The training provides an ongoing calendar of business webinars, an online portal and special training and events targeted to address the special challenges faced by women of color. Although the number continues to increase, according to Core program components of the ABOVE program addresses the need for women owned businesses to expand their businesses with contracts, access capital and have access to a business mentors; 

A special component of the ABOVE program is WEOP’s proprietary training titled "Prime Time Contract Training".  This training provides women entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge to bid on federal and private contract opportunities as a strategy to increase annual business revenues. As a result of the training, business owners acquire the skills to competitively pursue prime and subcontract opportunities.   Participants also learn how to leverage Small Business Administration (SBA) certifications to qualify for set aside and sole source contracts that are designated for women owned businesses.
