Help us make sure our neighbors are food secure this #GivingTuesday!

For 30 years, Urban Recipe’s food cooperatives (food co-ops) have provided a consistent source of food to under-resourced families across metro Atlanta. We currently partner with five organizations, to operate eight food co-ops. Our membership- based co-op model has traditionally been a highly participatory process, encouraging co-op members to fill various roles to support the food sorting and distribution process for up to 50 co- op families every other week, twenty-six times a year.        

In response to the global pandemic, Urban Recipe shifted from its place-based, high-touch, face- to-face co-op model to a process that was centrally located and relied heavily on community volunteers and co-op members to sort, pack and distribute food. Today, we are proud to share that we have safely transitioned all our co-ops back to their original locations, within their respective neighborhoods.
