We vision a UNITED Northeast Georgia region where everyone has the opportunity and resources to grow, succeed, and thrive. Our mission is to make positive, sustained, and measurable change through: identifying regional needs; collecting, sharing, and removing barriers to local resources; and building nonprofit capacity. After diligent data analysis, focus groups, and community insight, we determined the highest need for impact across our region is seen in three categories: basic needs, early childhood success, and workforce development. We invest in impact through funding local non-profit programs that apply for our Community Impact Grants in the spring, which are then reviewed by local community volunteers and suggestions are made to the United Way Board of Directors on which programs should receive funding. Last year, we were able to fund over 27 programs that was able to make a great deal of impact for many in our community. Because of our funding, we were able to help 85% of program participants experiencing homelessness move into stable housing, 86% of participants served had a decrease in food insecurity within 30 days, 93% of children served met developmental milestones, and 81% of youth aged 16-24 served are engaged in the workforce.
We connect the community back to the resources and all others in the community through our free & confidential human and health service line, 211. ANYONE can call 211 or text 898-211 with their zip-code, and speak with a real person in either english or spanish and also translates up to 150 languages, to get connected with the closest local resource they may be needing. EX: rent assistance, mental health access, food access, shelter information, GED class locations, Holiday gift connections ETC...
GIVE TODAY TO BE APART OF MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY!!

We cover 12 counties including: Banks, Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Franklin, Greene, Hart, Jackson, Madison, Morgan, Oconee and Oglethorpe.
Basic needs are the non-negotiables in life. Access to food so no meal is missed, a consistent and safe place to call home, crisis assistance, and unexpected needs because of an emergency are all basic needs we all deserve.
Early childhood success focuses on children's earliest developmental successes. The first years of a child’s life are the most critical in development and learning. Without access to educational opportunities, many children fall behind before they even start kindergarten, and continue to struggle to catch up. Providing children access to books, educational tools and resources, and healthy routine learning environments is essential.
Workforce development is a people-focused approach to a community’s economic success. Offering trainings and resources in workforce development allows individuals to succeed and strengthen the region’s overall workforce and economy.
