The United Spinal Association of Georgia is dedicated to empowering and advocating for people with spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D) across the state. Our mission is to help individuals with physical limitations live full, meaningful, and successful lives within their communities. We achieve this through a range of vital programs and services, including:Peer Support and Mentoring:
-
Our robust Peer Support program is at the heart of our work. We offer one-on-one peer mentoring, virtual and in-person support groups, and casual meet-ups to provide a supportive network that helps people with SCI/D navigate their new lives successfully.
-
Advocacy Network: We actively advocate for legislative changes and regulations that benefit the disability community, ensuring that the voices of those with SCI/D are heard and respected.
-
Adaptive Video Gaming and Esports: Through our "Nerve Gaming" program, we offer an inclusive space for recreational and competitive gamers with disabilities. This program fosters community, competition, and social connection.
-
Information and Resources: We provide free membership to people with SCI/D, their families, and others in the disability community. Members gain access to our HelpDesk service for expert information, a subscription to New Mobility magazine, and exclusive member benefits and discounts.
By providing these essential resources and a supportive community, we empower our members to thrive and achieve independence. Your support helps us continue to be a champion for individuals with spinal cord injuries and disorders in Georgia.
