Ubuntu 4 Youth

A nonprofit organization

Ubuntu 4 Youth  was founded in 2015 when Georgia recognized their teen suicide rate was going in the wrong direction. Youth suicides, like all suicides, are up nationally. Suicide rates in the general population climbed 21% from 2005 to 2016. Urgency is particularly high to stem the problem with children. Today, we have not seen a decrease. Ubuntu4Youth, is building its community to be an organization in Georgia dedicated to ending  peer bullying, which we believe is a core component to teen suicide.

Through education, advocacy and collaboration Ubuntu4Youth reaches over 15,000 teens, parents, families, health educators, and youth serving organization professionals to address one of the state’s toughest and costliest issues. Ubuntu4Youth has trained professionals in the industry giving more than 13,000 students the opportunity to receive proven, effective health education programs that work.

Realizing that chronic poverty, dropping out of school, lack of employment, poor health, and little hope for a brighter future go hand in hand with teen pregnancy, at the heart of Ubuntu 4 Youth’s work is providing teens the knowledge, skills and motivation to make good healthy choices—choices that include loving themselves and respecting ours differnces.

This organization speaks volumes to the youth. We are here to Listen, Engage, Empower and Encourage.
