Trustbuilding Inc

Trustbuilding, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  It is a Racial Trustbuilding Initiative located in Troup County, Georgia.  The program was founded in LaGrange, GA, in 2015 by former Troup County Commission chair Ricky Wolfe and former Georgia State Representative Carl Von Epps, Jr., servant leaders with a vision for an inclusive community that would develop from an intentional program of strategic conversations to reduce bias, improve relationships, and encourage Trust among all constituents. The organization serves residents in all of Troup County, and our series of training and workshops have engaged over 500 local residents.

The organization's mission is to bridge the racial divide in Troup country through trust-building, research, community collaboration, and action to remove barriers that prevent full access to opportunities for all. Racial Trustbuilding supports this mission by providing workshops that train citizens to have an intentional dialogue about racial history and reconciliation. 

"By focusing on the problem together, as equal partners with equal responsibility, we can harness the wit, the will, and the energy to create a new day," said Harlon Dalton.   These words ring true for today's racial landscape.   

In addition to the training sessions, Racial Trustbuilding hosts programs on specific topics using subject matter experts to broaden perspectives and help participants dissect historical occurrences of Racism that inform decisions and policies made today, contributing to racial inequalities.

The Racial Trustbuilding board understands that in current times when issues that divide us are confronted daily, the mission of our organization is more urgent than ever.  Thus far, the success we have seen has fueled our momentum to grow and expand our work beyond a few volunteers. We have a vital role in opening eyes and hearts changing perspectives that lead to new behaviors and united communities.
