The Isaiah 61:1 Project, Jail/Prison Ministry

A nonprofit organization

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO:

When they are released, ex-offenders frequently have no where to go, no one to help them and no knowledge of the abundant resources available to them within our communities, leaving them feeling hopeless and desperate. We form relationships with them & their family (if they have one) through our Mentoring Program, then connect them with the necessary tools they will need to help ensure a successful re-entry into the community or a recovery center upon their release. This results in a much greater chance of success without recidivism.

TOOLS WE HELP CONNECT OUR RECENTLY RELEASED MEN & WOMEN WITH:

• Mentorship While Incarcerated & Beyond

• Provide Books, Bibles & Devotionals

• Resume Building Course with Free Laptop

• Virtual Job Interview & Career Certification Programs

• Proper Interview Attire

• In-Jail Job Fairs & Post-Release Opportunities

• Connection with "Second-Chance" Employers

• Document Recovery Assistance : Drivers License, State ID, Birth Certificates, Social Security Cards

• Free Gang Tattoo Removal Opportunity

• Transportation Resources to Probation, Appointments, Community Service, etc

• Food, Clothing, Toiletries, etc, Upon Community Re-Entry

• Provisions for their Families while they are incarcerated

• Referrals for No Cost Medical/Dental Assistance

• Recovery/Sober Living House Referral & Placement
