Sweet Cocoon Inc

The Sweet Cocoon, Inc is a non-profit in Rome, GA. It was founded in 2012 after the death of Marlowe Treglown who passed away at 18 years old from Sanfilippo Syndrome. The purpose of the foundation is to create a place of respite and peace for families that have a chronically or acutely ill child.  

We have a wheelchair accessible picnic area with bright colored tables that adjoins our beautiful, recently completed pavilion. Children with disabilities or illnesses are always welcomed to the property. They are welcome to have birthday parties and celebrations here and there isn't ever a charge for these families. Since the pavilion has been completed, we've hosted several birthday parties out here and held a special needs Trick or Treat and Movie Night. This next year we expect many more events that bring lots of laughter and joy to our extra special kiddos and their families.

To help us create an even more wonderful and safe environment, this fundraiser will be used to provide the following things for our kids and their families to enjoy. 

1. Concrete loading and unloading areas on 2 si
2. des of the pavilion
3. An ADA sidewalk complete with handrails from the pavilion to a spot where we would like to have a wheelchair accessible fire pit area. 
4. Wheelchair accessible fire pit area. We already have some materials for this area. 
5. Programmable LED scrolling sign so that we can personalize each event out there welcoming each child and their family or each group. 
6. Strong industrial shelving unit for our storage room to keep everything accessible and easy to obtain and organized. 
7. We would like to be able to put a gift basket together for each chlld when they hold a celebration here. 
8. Handrails and safety features on bridges that go over small wet weather ditch in picnic area and also at creek area that we plan to further develop.
