The picture and story of homelessness is nondescript. No story, face, or skin color is the same. More than 1,600 kids in our Atlanta community experience homelessness on any given night. And there were 1,700 documented homeless students in Fulton County Schools in the 2013-2014 school year alone!
These kids are hidden and without a voice. Passionate SUFK volunteers go into our community to identify these kids (wherever they may be - on the streets, in the schools), connect them with the life-saving resources and services, and provide mentorship to them to rise above theirsituation and reach their potential.
Our goal is to change vulnerability and desperation to hope and stability.
SUFK Atlanta (SUFK - ATL) is currently providing life-saving resources and outreach services by offering 3 programs to our community: Street Outreach Teams, an Outreach Center, and a School-based Mentoring Program. Through our programming and strong community partnerships, SUFK - ATL focuses on awareness, outreach, education, and prevention to combat and end youth homelessness before it extends into adulthood.
We are only successful if we have a strong community behind us and amazing volunteers who give their time, energy, or donations...to show our youth that people do care about them and that there is hope and opportunities for them.
Please support getting all of Atlanta's youth off the streets!
