$60,000 Goal

When you give back to the St. Simons Land Trust, you are protecting properties like Cannon's Point Preserve, John Gilbert Nature Trail, and the Old Stables Corner. You are enabling the careful management of more than 1,000 acres of land on St. Simons. And you are helping to create a culture of conservation in this island community.

MISSION:

To preserve our island's natural and scenic character and to enhance the quality of life for present and future generations

BACKGROUND:

In 2000, a group of residents concerned about the rapid increase in high-density development and congestion on the island, founded the St. Simons Land Trust.

For the past two decades, this community institution has worked consistently to acquire, conserve, and manage wilderness areas and iconic and historic properties, preserve ecological resources and scenic views, protect shorelines and waterways, increase greenspace and pocket parks, promote community education and outreach, and create low-impact outdoor recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
