Southside Support, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving families of individuals with disabilities across south metro Atlanta. Founded to reduce isolation and strengthen community connection, Southside Support has grown into a regional hub for resources, inclusive programs, and caregiver support. Our mission is to empower individuals with special needs and their families by connecting them with resources, fostering inclusive events, and creating opportunities for education and support—building a community where people of all abilities feel valued and supported.
History & Purpose
Southside Support began as a small, grassroots effort to connect caregivers who often felt alone in navigating complex medical, educational, and behavioral needs. Over time, the organization expanded to meet the growing demand for inclusive programming, accessible community spaces, and emotional support for families who frequently face financial strain, limited respite options, and social isolation. Today, Southside Support serves families across multiple counties, offering both in‑person programs and an online support network of nearly 8,000 caregivers, providers, and experts.
Our Vision
We envision a community where individuals with disabilities and their families are fully included, supported, and equipped to thrive with dignity, connection, and opportunity. We believe inclusion is not a single event—it is a culture. Our programs are designed to create spaces where people of all abilities can participate fully, build friendships, and experience joy without barriers.
Programs & Services
Southside Support offers a continuum of programs that address the social, emotional, and practical needs of families:

These programs are designed to reduce loneliness, increase access to inclusive recreation, and strengthen the emotional well‑being of caregivers who often shoulder extraordinary responsibilities.
Impact
In 2025, Southside Support served approximately 8,000 individuals through in‑person programs and online engagement. More than 200 volunteers contributed their time, skills, and compassion to support our mission. Our programs provide meaningful respite for caregivers, social opportunities for individuals with disabilities, and community education that fosters empathy and inclusion.
Families in our region frequently face challenges such as limited accessible recreation, high therapy and medical costs, reduced work flexibility, and a lack of social support. Southside Support exists to fill these gaps—creating spaces where families feel seen, supported, and connected. Our work strengthens not only individual families but the broader community by promoting understanding, reducing isolation, and building inclusive environments where everyone belongs.
Our Commitment
Southside Support remains committed to expanding access, strengthening partnerships, and developing programs that reflect the evolving needs of the disability community. We believe that every person deserves opportunities for joy, connection, and belonging—and we work every day to make that a reality for families across south metro Atlanta.
