Second Wind Dreams® is an internationally-known nonprofit organization changing the perception of aging through the fulfillment of dreams and the offering of the patented Virtual Dementia Tour® to help caregivers understand the physical and cognitive challenges facing those with dementia. Founded in 1997, the Atlanta-based organization is recognized as the first in the nation to focus on enhancing the quality of life for elders through the fulfillment of dreams.  

Karl, a retired veteran living with dementia, had one dream: to soar through the skies again. When he took the controls of a plane, the memories of his military days came rushing back, and the weight of dementia seemed to vanish. As they flew, his son watched, filled with emotion, as joy replaced the shadows of dementia. This is the magic Second Wind Dreams brings—moments where joy conquers adversity and dreams come true.
