Sandy Springs Education Force (SSEF) creates and provides targeted programs that educate, inspire and prepare public school students in Sandy Springs for a competitive world.

Thanks to incredible supporters, Sandy Springs Education Force (SSEF) continues to provide life-changing programs that open doors for students at every stage of their educational journey. We hope you'll support SSEF for Giving Tuesday this year!

Our efforts resulted in Fulton County Schools naming SSEF their 2025 Overall Partner of the Year. We are so proud of this recognition and look forward to continuing to work closely with our school community to continue to educate, inspire and prepare students for success in a competitive world.

A particularly impactful program is our High Demand Career Fair. We just held our Third Annual High Demand Career Fair and were thrilled to grow it to the largest number of exhibitors ever. Fields represented included healthcare, construction and the trades, financial services, personal care, automotive, public service, education and technology.

Representatives provided valuable insights about jobs, internships, apprenticeships and training programs designed to launch students into high-demand careers with real opportunities for advancement right after high school. An overwhelming 93% of students who participated were very satisfied or satisfied with the experience. Several commented, "I liked the ability to speak with many different employers in different fields."

Marcia shared that the event made her "feel like she is a step ahead of everyone else." She noted, "I really appreciated that you guys had this event. Honestly, it just helps people who don't know what to do, or what the next steps are, to figure it out." We love seeing students connect the dots to opportunities. View a video of her describing what she gained from the event.

The impact of the High Demand Career Fair initiative is starting to come to light. A current Riverwood High School senior, Vanessa, described how participating in a previous High Demand Career Fair made a difference for her:

"I have asthma, so I have been going to doctors since I was very little. I had to translate between my mom’s Spanish and the doctor's Chinese…[and] learn medical terms and understand things beyond my years…I don't want other children to have the same struggles, so I decided I want to become a pediatrician and open a clinic where children and parents can come into a friendly atmosphere and be understood and supported with translation help if they need it."

"I researched how to get into the medical field and learned that one method for students is to work as a CNA. The program I found interfered with school, but my teacher recommended I go to SSEF’s High Demand Career Fair. I met people from Love Nursing and got signed up right away. They worked out a hybrid training for me...I passed the State Certification test and work as a CNA on the weekends. Having this training gave me confidence when I started working. Some day, I hope to be a doctor. I am thankful to SSEF for providing this career fair at my school."

More About Sandy Springs Education Force (SSEF)

SSEF offers and implements free supplemental programs designed to engage, support and encourage our economically disadvantaged public school students to excel academically, finish high school and succeed in college or a career. Programs focus on key workforce readiness areas, such as science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM). For example, we organize an award-winning STEAM Showcase every year for the entire community.

In addition, we offer literacy, after-school and mentoring opportunities that open doors for students and encourage them to explore their potential and to expand their future prospects.

SSEF believes that the future of Sandy Springs and the greater community depends on our students' educational success, and we invite you to join us in our efforts, both by donating and volunteering. Learn more via our website: https://www.sandyspringseducationforce.org.
