Robert W Woodruff Library of the Atlanta University Center Inc

The Atlanta University Center (AUC) Robert W. Woodruff Library supports the teaching, learning and research missions of four institutions of higher education that comprise the world’s largest consortium of HBCUs – Clark Atlanta University, Interdenominational Theological Center, Morehouse College, and Spelman College. As the “center of the Center,” the AUC Woodruff Library is the intellectual and information hub of the Atlanta University Center. 

The Library partners with member academic institutions of the AUC to provided information management, instruction and access to a variety of global information resources acquired and organized in support of teaching and learning, scholarship and cultural preservation of the Atlanta University Center.

The AUC Woodruff Library is also home to the Archives Research Center, which is noted for its extensive and unique holdings of materials on the Atlanta University Center historic and contemporary institutions, as well as the African American experience -- including the John Henrik Clarke Africana and African American Collection, the Joseph Echols and Evelyn Gibson Lowery Collection, the Henry P. Slaughter Collection, the Countee Cullen Memorial Collection, the Walter Rodney Papers, and the Atlanta Student Movement Collection. In addition, at the request of Morehouse College, the library serves as custodian of the Morehouse College Martin Luther King Jr. Collection.
