Refuge Coffee Inc

Refuge Coffee Co.'s mission is to use a delicious cup of coffee as a platform for job training and personal development of resettled refugees and other immigrants.

Refuge Coffee’s Workforce Development Program tackles barriers, such as lack of English language skills and cultural knowledge, that inherently exist for newcomers and limit job opportunities and earning potential. Our program provides 10-15 resettled refugees with full-time, competitive-wage jobs, targeted job training, and personal development for 12-18 months with the goal of obtaining step-up employment after completion of the program. Trainees are provided access to English and/or GED classes, cultural education, hospitality training, financial literacy, and coaching while paying them for time in shops and training.

Refuge also offers events and classes to newcomer neighbors that cultivate participation in the community. We create welcoming spaces, offering financial literacy classes, biannual workforce resource fairs, two annual markets and monthly pop-ups supporting newcomer-owned businesses, and fun gatherings such as Friendsgiving and an annual 5k our neighbors run for free.

Through our worldwide welcome, Refuge Coffee aims to tell a more accurate, more beautiful refugee and immigrant story to Metro Atlanta and beyond.
